Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2013 Ford Escape to Carry a Bike Rack
Question:
Hi was just looking at aftermarket hitch for 2013 Excape- came across site. Questions: if I plan to only use for bike carrier, is it still required/recommende dot tie in the elctricals, or can you simplify to just mechanical assay? If so are you required to remove fascia, or just attach hitch assembly?

Trailer wiring is separate so you can just install trailer hitch # 75758 on your 2013 Ford Escape. The hitch requires rear fascia trimming for installation. I have incldued links to the instructions for you to view.
Both of these hitches are Class III hitches with 2 inch receivers. A 2 inch hitch can carry up to five bikes on a bike rack provided that the combined weight of the bikes and rack does not exceed the tongue weight capacity of the hitch or vehicle, whichever is lower.
If you need a bike rack one of the most popular 2 bike racks is the Swagman XTC-2, # S64670. For 3 bikes take a look at the Swagman Trailhead # S63360. For 4 bikes a popular rack is the Thule Hitching Post Pro Item # TH934XTR. And for 5 bikes I would go with the Thule Apex, # TH9026XT.
If you are in need of a bike rack and are looking for specific features like a certain capacity, the ability to tilt, fold, or swing away, or anything else I will be happy to make some recommendations.
