Troubleshooting Pre-Collision Warning After Installing Brake Controller on 2020 Toyota Highlander

Question:

Pre-collision system errors out on my 2020 Toyota Tacoma when using a Techonsha P3. I just read on your site that this is a known problem. The dealer fixed it once for me for free and I am taking it back this week for another reset. I dont want this to continue to happen. Do you have some detailed instruction on how to wire your diode into the wiring harness, It would be great if this was the fix. The dealership is stumped. Let me know what you think Thanks for any help you can give.

Expert Reply:

To wire in a diode into the wiring of your 2020 Toyota Tacoma you need to install the # RM-690 on the red wire of the brake controller wiring. Basically just cut the wire and attach the two cut wires to the ends of the diode with the IN side pointed towards the vehicle.
