Recommended Motorhome Hitch Mounted Bike Carriers Rated Good, Better, and Best
Question:
Is this rack ok to use with a motorhome? Some are too low and will scrape the ground when pulling in for fuel, etc.

The Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack for 2" Hitches - Platform Style - Tilting # Y02443 is not rated for motorhome use. This rack is rated for vehicle use and the use on the back of a flat-towed vehicle, but is not rated for Motorhome, travel trailer, or 5th wheel trailer use.
Since you are looking for that additional ground clearance, I will give you my recommendation for good, better, best. The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # C18085 which is a good rack rated for motorhome use. A better rack is the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # S64683. The best rack for your motorhome use is the Hollywood Racks RV Rider # HLY64FR which is a much sturdier rack rated for bikes up to 80 lbs each. The carrier is built for the additional movement the rack will experience simply because the hitch location is so far behind the rear axle of your vehicle. These will all provide ground clearance needed for half curbs, slight ramp inclines, and small dips in the road. All of those will jostle the bike rack quite a bit, so that is why the sturdiest version is the best over the long run as it will hold up under those conditions.
