How To Wire Optronics Pedestal Mount 3-Function Tail Light # ST51RB to Utility Trailer
Question:
I used a trailer light kit for my boat and it worked great. This would be for a utility trailer. I plan to wire it just like my boat trailer but this mount requires a pedestal light. The boat kit wires were brown green etc etc. I see that these wires are black and red. How would you connect them?

Expert Reply:
On the Optronics Pedestal Mount 3-Function Tail Light, part # ST51RB, the red wire would be for the tail light signal and the black wire is for brake and turn signal.
The light gets grounded through the mounting pedestal to the trailer frame so it will need to be mounted to a metal surface connected to the trailer frame.
