When Should 2016 Kia Sorento Towing Boat Use Trailer Brakes
Question:
my 2016 6 cylinder kia sorento has a maximum 5000lbs towing limit. At what weight for towing should I have trailer brakes? Does backing the boat into fresh water harm the brakes? Thank you

Anytime a trailer is more than half the weight of the tow vehicle we strongly recommend using trailer brakes. Are you shopping for a boat and trailer now? Some boat trailers have surge brakes which mean no electronics are ran to them but some do use electric brakes and they have good luck even submerged.
