Which B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch For 2020 Ford OEM Prep Package
Question:
I have a 2005 Ford F350 6.0 dually. Last year I had the BandW Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch installed used about 4 times. Im planning in the next couple of months to update my truck to a 2020 Ford F350 6.7 dually. My question is if the new truck comes with the Hitch Prep package, does that mean my BandW Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch wont work and Ill need to get the BWRVK3305 BandW hitch for the new truck in order for it to works with the Prep package?

I actually may have a better solution for you on this. Since your new 2020 Ford F-350 comes with the OEM Prep package already installed, you can use the existing hitch head from your B&W Hitch and pair it with the Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ford Super Duty # BWRVB3300. This would provide you with a base that is compatible with the OEM pucks on your new F-350 that you can mount your old head to. It's a bit cheaper than going with a completely new system and would allow you to save some money.
If you wanted to include the hitch with your old truck, you could use either the # BWRVK3300 (20,000-lbs capacity) or # BWRVK3305 (25,000-lbs capacity) for a completely new hitch that will fit in the Ford OEM Prep package on your new truck. This might help you get a bit more out of the old truck if the new owner is also planning on towing a 5th wheel trailer and you might be able to get your new hitch paid for completely.
