Does the Reese Underbed Rail and Installation Kit for 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 Require Drilling
Question:
I did not get the factory puck system but want to go this route. I’ve heard that you have a kit that is close to same. I think I also read that the holes match up with fords puck adapter plates and not Chevy Is that correct? Are the frame brackets vehicle specific or will I need to drill holes? Thanks

You can use the Reese # RP30868 to install a puck style underbed 5th wheel mounting system in your 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 and the pucks will be the same as the Ford puck system; that is correct. The installation of the # RP30868 does not require drilling and is designed to fit using the existing frame holes on your 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500.
If you need a hitch that will fit in this puck system, I recommend using the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider for Ford Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs # C16530-16020. The Q20 has a spherical axial bearing that allows 360 degree movement of the hitch head, which makes hooking and unhooking a breeze regardless of the terrain and also helps cushion road shock. This is a sliding hitch that will work well for your short bed and help reduce the chance that your trailer hits the cab during 90 degree turns.
I've linked an installation video of the underbed kit on a similar Silverado 2500 for you to have a look at, as well as a short video on the Q20.
