Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver, Wiring, and Brake Controller for 2000 Nissan Frontier
Question:
We just bought an old camper with brakes. My Frontier does not have a receiver or wiring for lights. I would like to pull the camper with the Frontier. What do you recommend for the receiver, wiring harness and brake controller? Thank you

For your 2000 Nissan Frontier, I recommend starting with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13841. Then I recommend using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118362 along with the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 12 Gauge Wires # ETBC7L and the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180. This is a great combination of products to allow you to safely tow your camper.
Depending on your trailer, you will either want a weight distribution system or a ball mount. Weight distribution is normally the route to go with a trailer to keep your vehicle from squat, keep the trailer and truck level, and assist with sway control. I've linked an article to help you determine the right fit for your trailer.
