Question:
Hello, I have a 2013 Subaru Forester and was hoping to pair the 75650Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch with the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Bike Platform Rack - 2inch Hitches - Frame Mount - HR4000. Wondering whether this combo would work. Thanks.

I am happy to help you select the right Hitch Receiver and Bike Rack combination for your 2013 Subaru Forester. The Draw-Tite 2 inch hitch # 75650 is a confirmed fit for your Forester, and it is compatible with the Hollywood Racks Destination 4 # HR4000.
The Hollywood Racks Destination 4 # HR4000 is a good option, but has several limitations on your Subaru. It does not allow access to your Forester's rear hatch when bikes are loaded. When the rack is folded up it only allows 6 inches of clearance to the hitch pin hole in the receiver. The distance from your Draw-Tite hitch pin hole to the edge of your Forester's bumper is 6.75 inches. Meaning you will not be able to fold the rack up when it's not in use. The Hollywood Destination also requires a bolt to be un-threaded when raising and lowering the platform for storage or when the rack is not in use on the vehicle. This rack also has a weight limit of 35 lbs. per bike.
Another rack to consider is the Saris Freedom 4 # SA4414B which allows for rear hatch access while bikes are loaded and has a quick pin release system rather than a threaded bolt to raise and lower the platform. The Saris Freedom has 10 inches of clearance when folded up giving you plenty of room between the rack and your bumper. This rack can support two 60 lbs. bikes on the inner holders (closest to the bumper) and two 35 lbs. bikes on the outer holders. Depending on your style of bikes this higher capacity could be very helpful.
