What Oil Filter Fits on the Derale Thermostatic Engine Oil Filter Adapter and a Kawasaki 4 Wheeler

I have a Kawasaki Brute Force 4 wheeler, I want to install an oil cooler and the filter threads are 20mm x 1.5 oil filter but the OEM filter gasket is too small for the sandwich adapter. What size automotive filter will fit on this adapter. What other parts do you suggest to complete my project.

After doing a bit of research on the internet, I was able to find that the Fram filter, PH3950, will work on the 20 x 1.5 mm threaded adapter included with the thermostatic adapter, part # D25732. This filter has a 2.80 inch outside diameter gasket that will work with the thermostatic adapters.

This filter has a larger overall outside diameter, 3.66 inches, than your 4 wheeler OEM filter too and you will need to check to be sure that the Oil filter will fit in the location with the sandwich adapter installed.

If the PH3950 Oil Filter will not fit you will need to go with the Derale Low-Profile Sandwich Adapter, # D25772, which will work with the smaller 2-5/8 inch gasket diameter of your 4 wheelers OEM oil filter. This filter does not have the thermostat installed so your OEM filter will seal on it. I added a photo showing the # D25732 adapter and the # D25772 adapter and the difference that keeps your OEM filter from sealing on the thermostatic model.
