Recommended Roof Basket for 2018 Audi Q7 with Factory Fixed Mounting Points

Question:

Does this rack work well with fixed point roof brackets like on the Audi Q7? The bracket pads on this rack look fixed and not adjustable like on the Thule Canyon rack.

I have a solution for you, but there is not an available roof basket like the Thule Canyon # TH859XT that will mount directly to the factory fixed mounting points of a 2018 Audi Q7. If you don't already have factory roof rack crossbars you will need to add them in order to carry a roof basket. If you've already got factory crossbars in those fixed mounting points, both of these racks are designed to fit on most factory crossbars so you can just connect them directly to those.

To install a roof rack, I recommend using the Thule Roof Rack Kit for Audi Q7 using parts # TH711420, # TH460R, # THKIT3145, which will attach to your fixed mounting points. Once you've got a roof rack like that, you can use a roof basket like the Canyon or Rola Roof Cargo Basket without any issues. This kit will allow you to carry either the Rola cargo basket or the Thule Canyon on the crossbars since they're compatible with the aero style bars.
