Best Way to Have 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Wiring on 2011 Jeep Liberty
Question:
I am looking for a 7 pin wiring kit for my 2011 Jeep Liberty. Specifically, I want the ability to tow a 16 foot Scamp travel trailer that has the separate breaking system. I believe it is better to get a 7 to 4 pin connector then it is to get a 4 to 7 pin connector. Is that correct, and white seven pin kit would you recommend?

Expert Reply:
A 7-way to 4-way adapter is an easier adapter to use typically but based on the trailer wiring options we have for your 2011 Jeep Liberty the best solution would be to start with a 4-way like part # 118554 which fits your vehicle and then convert it to a 7-way with part # ETBC7 which actually has a 4-way on the side of the adapter so you end up with both styles of connectors. You'll need a brake controller too with our great performing and cost effective Brake EVN # TK63VR.
