Does Everchill RV Refrigerator Only Run Off of 12 Volt Power

Question:

does the frig model wd-282fwdc run off d c power from a battery only, only when plugged in -to a c power it still run off 12 volts

Correct, the Everchill RV Refrigerator with Freezer # 324-000119 is only able to run off of 12 volt power so it will need to be wired as such.

If you like you can use a switch installed on the power line to turn it off, the Pollak Heavy-Duty Toggle Switch # PK34571.

I wish to buy a Forest River RV, I know the batteries it comes with are inadequate for boondocking, A 24v battery system is superior to a 12v, why does a everchill have to run off only 12 volts? And if so is a 12v 200ah lithium battery enough?

The vast majority of RV products run off of 12V power only. Some products may work with a 24V system but those are typically few and far between. When it comes to battery size and how much is needed for boondocking I recommend checking out this helpful article on our site that I'm linking. Basically you're going to need to add up anything that will be pulling power to see if 200ah is enough to get you through your boondocking trips.
