Does the Power Wire from a Tow Ready Wiring Harness Need to be Ran to the Vehicle Battery

Can this wiring installation be wired to a set of normal household batteries or does it absolutely need to go to the car battery?

You absolutely need to run the power wire of the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118551 to the battery of your 2008 Ford Escape. The voltage on a D battery is no where near what would be needed and would not work.
If you are concerned about routing the power wire to the front of your car check out the FAQ article I attached that explains how to route the power wire up to the battery.
