How to Add Brake Light for Bike Rack When Flat Towing 2015 Jeep JK
Question:
I have a Hopkins HM56200 on my 2015 Jeep JK for flat towing. I put a bike rack on the back of the jeep when towing, it is hard to see the brake lights on the Jeep through the bikes. I want to add a brake light on the bike rack, but I wanted to find out how I would tap into the Hopkins harness and if there is a wire diagram for this harness. Would love to just add a 4 way outlet, wired to the hopkings harness to plug the bike rack brake light into. Thank you

There isn't a diagram available for this type of thing since it's not a common installation, but you can do that by splicing in the # 18252 to your Hopkins # HM56200. Once you've completed that, you can use the CIPA EVO Formance Ultrabrights LED Light Strip # CM93281 to plug into the 2nd 4 way plug and it will provide you with a 3rd brake light that will help provide better visibility when flat towing and carrying your bikes.
