Swagman E-Bike Rack for Motorhome
Question:
Hello, Im looking for 2" hitch bike rack for my 2 fat tire bikes to tow behind my 24 foot motorhome. I was trying to decide between the Swagman E-Spec and the Swagman Current. Im leaning towards the Current because it comes with cradles that will accommodate my fat tires. Compared with the E-Spec where I would need to purchase that part separately. The only other difference I can tell is the Current has a max weight of 60lbs and the E-Spec is 70lbs. My e-bikes are right at 60lbs without the battery attached so either should work. Also, it looks like the Current comes stock with a more comprehensive locking mechanism but I could be mistaken. I am new to this whole world and would really value an experts perspective on my assessment of these two racks to see if I am missing anything. Thank you!

Yes the Swagman Current # S64678 will fit your 2" hitch on the back of your motorhome. I have used both of these bike racks and they are very similar but I like the current better than the E Spec # S94FR. The Current is a very sturdy rack but still easy to use. Being able to carry Fat Tire Bikes and E-Bikes on your car or RV with one bike rack makes this extremely versatile. The weight capacity is lower at 60 lbs but removing the batteries will help you get below the weight capacity. It is recommended to remove the battery during transport to save weight but also because of the stress that is placed on the battery when on a bike rack.
The added cable lock is also really nice. If you use this on a vehicle with a hatch it still has the ability to tilt away with bikes loaded if you need to gain access to the hatch.
