Can rear hatch of be opened with this carrier?

Any trunk-mounted bike rack, including the Saris Bones # SAR83FR that fits your 2014 Lexus RX 350, will prevent the rear hatch from being opened with the bike rack on. In order to open you hatch it does need to be removed.
Additionally, please note that if you plan on carrying kids' bikes or bikes with a step-through or alternative frame you will need to give the bikes a horizontal mounting point by using an adapter, the Bike Frame Adapter Bar # HRBA-PRO.
