How to Activate 12 Volt Circuit of 7-Way of 1998 Chevy Suburban
Question:
I have a 1998 chevy suburban c1500. It has factory installed heavy duty tow wiring with the orange and blue wires running front to back. Ive located them in the back and going to hook the orange to the 7 way round connector, Im not hooking the blue one up due to the fact that we are going to use the Curt Echo wireless controller. So, what I need to know is how do I make the connection for the orange wire under the hood so I will have 12v aux at the rear? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
Under the brake booster under the hood of your 1998 Chevy Suburban is the end of the orange wire that would need to run to your vehicle battery to activate the 12 volt circuit so that you can install the Curt Echo part # C51180. It might be in rough shape so if you need to replace it with 10 gauge wire part # 10-1-1 which we sell by the foot.
