Lightweight Hitch Bike Rack that Can Carry 3 Bikes
Question:
Will this rack have enough clearance that the bike won’t scratch my Prius prime car. I installed a draw tite 11/4 hitch receiver which I got for etrailer. And I wanted this 3 bike not the the 2 bike because I will be using it also on my forester with a 2 inch receiver. Or do you have a better option for me to buy I’m looking for a lightest one since the Prius can’t handle too much

The Thule Helium Pro 3 part # TH9043PRO would be a solid choice for you situation as you can use it in both hitch sizes. When used in the Class I 1-1/4 inch hitch size you'd be limited to only carrying two bikes but when in the 2 inch hitch size you can carry the full 3 bike capacity. Class I hitches do not have the needed strength to handle the additional weight and leverage of a third bike carried that far away from the hitch. You'd easily have clearance too so there would be no damage to the vehicle.
The weight of the bike rack is 20 lbs. I attached a review video for more info as well.
If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
