Can Receiver Height be Raised on Stealth Hitches Trailer Hitch for 2019 Volvo V60 for Bike Rack

Question:

Hello, Im wondering if you have an option to raise the receiver height for this stealth hitch, in order to prevent a reduced departure angle. With a bike rack added to this setup it will likely make contact with the ground when navigating a steep driveway. I realize this would mean having to cut the bumper fascia to allow but I am ok with that. Thanks

There isn't a way you can raise the receiver height or alter the positioning of any trailer hitch for your 2019 Volvo V60, including the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # SH47FR.

The issue with this vehicle is that it's back end is low to the ground so I can understand your concern about ground contact, but it would have to be a very steep incline for the receiver itself to make contact. A bike rack would be more likely to make contact because it sticks out so the best thing you can do is use a bike rack with a significant rise in the shank.

For this I highly recommend the Saris Freedom 2-Bike Rack # SA4412B.

This rack has an 8 inch rise in the shank, and is one of my favorite bike racks because it weighs just 22-1/2 lbs, making it simple to handle, but can transport bikes up to 60 lbs. This bike rack will work with bikes that have tires up to 3" wide but if you have fat bikes with tires up to 5" wide you can use the Saris Freedom 2-Bike Rack for Fat Bikes # SA4412B-FB.

Both options have an anti-rattle hitch pin but I recommend securing your investment with a hitch lock, the Hitch Tite Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock # SA3022.

I have added links to video reviews of the rack as well as a video install for you to check out of the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # SH47FR.
