Will the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent MA00-07500K Auto Shut While Raining

Question:

The vent fan is two months old. During the last two occurrences of rain, the unit did not shutdown and the lid did not close. How do I troubleshoot. There is no off button in the fan body for the rain sensor. Auto is set and green light is ON.

The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent part # MA00-07500K does not have a rain sensor that will shut the unit down and close the lid while it's raining. It instead has a rain shield which is just a lid that helps to prevent water from getting inside the unit. The MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent part # MA00-04500K has the rain sensor you mentioned.
