Why Does My Brake Controller say it is Connected to a Trailer when I Test the Output Circuit

Question:

put a test light on the feed wire,blue, and the light on the controler comes on, take the test light off and the light will go off.

If you are referring to the green light that indicates a trailer is connected, its normal as long as there is not a trailer plugged in while you were testing. When you hook up the test light you are basically putting a small load on the circuit which is tricking the controller into thinking that there is a trailer connected to your vehicle.

You should try connecting your vehicle to a trailer and see if it works correctly. I would imagine that it should work fine for you.
