How To Add a Brake Controller To a 2018 Ford F-150
Question:
I have a 2018 F-150 standard and had a trailer hitch installed by the dealer not a FORD dealer. They installed the hitch and trailer wiring to include a 4 pin connector in addition to the 7 pin. To haul a small RV all I need is a TBC, correct? Also with this installed the next thing needed would be syncing the TRC to the trucks computer system, correct?

It sounds like you need to add a brake controller to your 2018 Ford F-150 in order to tow a trailer with brakes and if that is the case then we have some great options. I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller part # RED44FR which would be plug-in-play when used with the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers part # 331-TPH-007. This is one of the best aftermarket brake controllers on the market and has a very clean finished install look. It would not require any syncing to the factory computer.
In regards to parts needed to tow a trailer, trailer hitch, trailer wiring, ball mount/hitch ball, and a brake controller if the trailer has brakes would be it.
