Is Thule TH898 Hullavator Compatible with Factory Roof Rack on 2018 Subaru Forester

Is the Hullavator compatible on a 2018 Subaru Forrester? Someone told me it was not. Do I need any special mounts or bars to use the Hullavator on a 2018 Subaru Forrester?

The factory roof rack on your 2018 Forester wouldn't work well because the crossbars do not extend 4-8 inches beyond where they attach to the roof rack feet. The Hullavator needs that extra length do it doesn't contact the side of the car when it's lowered.
If you're looking for an inexpensive crossbar kit that would do the trick, I'd recommend going with # MPG215 from Malone. At 50 inches long, the crossbars will be long enough for the Thule # TH898 Hullavator to operate properly. The rack itself is pretty inexpensive and will definitely get the job done for you. As you can see by the product reviews, despite the low price this item is very highly rated by our customers.
