Can Ultra-Fab Skid Wheel be Installed on Bumper of Trailer
Question:
I want to install some skid wheels on my Retro 18-foot trailer made by whitewater. It weighs about 3,000 pounds wet so it isnt very heavy to start with. Im hoping to bolt it on the rear bumper somewhere since I cant weld it. so the rear tube is a 4-inch square tube and the struts its attached to are about 2.5 to three inches. Would I be able to buy four 5-inch bolts to install them? The reason Im thinking of the 5-inch diameter wheel is that I have stabilizers back there and have to clear them. Or could I drill into the square bumper and bolt the wheels to the bumper? Im open to suggestions, thanks

You'll want to install the Ultra-Fab Skid Wheels # UF48-979012 (or any skid wheel for that matter) to the frame of your trailer because your bumper won't be able to take the force of the weight of your trailer. You can definitely install the skid wheel to your bumper, but but it wouldn't be as effective as installed to your frame.
