Special Drill Bit for Drilling Into the Bumper of a 1992 Chevy C/K Series Truck
Question:
I purchased a 7pin vehicle adapter locally b/c I needed it in a hurry to pick up a trailer I bought. Attempted to drill the bumper of my 92 chevy CK truck for mounting the adapter bracket. No luck, drill wont bite. Any suggestions for a better bit or how to mount the bracket short of welding it? Intend on purchasing some parts from you and a brake controller b/c the trailer needs at least the brakes re-wired.

For hard to drill metal surfaces I recommend a rotabroach bit. We have several of these, see link, but they will probably be too large for for a 7-way mounting bracket. You can also try to use self-tapping screws like # 1172904 instead of drilling.
For adding new wiring and brakes, I have included a link to a video that should help. For a 1992 Chevy C/K series truck, I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885. It is one of our most popular controllers because it is easy to set up and easy to use.
