Did Chevy Change Their OEM Fifth Wheel Rail Kits for 2020 Silverados

Question:

I have a Curt Q25 5th wheel hitch. I recently purchased a 2020 Chevy LT 2500 HD 6 3/4 bed with towing package that include PUK holes. This hitch fit my 2016 Chevy 2500 however holes do not match up with the 2020 model. 1 Will my Curt Q25 hitch fit in this adapter? 2 Will the Demco adapter fit in my 2020 Chevy? 3 With the 6 3/4 bed do I need a slider? Thanks

For 2020 Chevy and GMC decided to move the puck locations for their factory rail kits in the beds of the trucks. They are the first manufacturer to do this but what it means is that all of the hitch manufacturers had to come up with new fits for the 2020 rail kits. So if you have a Curt Q25 hitch that fits standard fifth wheel rails the Demco rail kit adapter part # DM6333 will allow it to fit the rail kit of your truck.

Since the short bed is one of the longer short bed sizes at 6-3/4 feet you'd most likely not need a slider hitch to tow a fifth wheel trailer as long as the trailer has a tapered nose and an extended pin box.

If the Curt hitch you mentioned fit directly to the GM rail kit of your 2016 truck you'd need a new hitch like the Companion part # BWRVK3775 which fits the rail kit directly.
