Fit of Roadmaster Base Plate #521633-1 on 2012 Hyundai Veloster Turbo

Question:

Does this base plate fit the 2012 Turbo as well as the standard Veloster? If so, how much trimming of grill, bumper is required? Can the draw bars be adapted to other brands of tow bar? Is this owner installable? I am quite handy with automotive projects although I wood not want to take on a project on a new vehicle which involves mechanical modifications - bolt on with no mechanical interference only.

According to Roadmaster, the # 521633-1 base plate kit is a fit for the Turbo model of the Veloster.

There will be a small amount of grille trimming needed. The base plates can be used with a Blue Ox tow bar by using the # RM-032 adapter.

I will send you a copy of the install instructions in a separate email. You can look them over and decide if the installation would be something you would be comfortable undertaking.

My research indicates that a Veloster with the 6 speed manual transmission is capable of being flat towed, while the automatic transmission models are not. I would recommend you confirm this with Hyundai.
