Roof Rack Needed for Roof Top Tent on 2016 Ram 1500 with Leer Shell

Question:

i have a 2016 dodge ram 1500 crew cab with a leer canopy same height I want to mount a bundutop roof tent , what is the best rack to take care of this ? i will probably have to drill into my canopy

A good solution for this would be the Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells # Y02-490B because it uses a track so you can adjust the width between the crossbars. This is a universal design so it will fit your Leer shell no matter what bed length you have on your 2016 Ram 1500.

Just a few things to take note of. You'll want to reach out to the RTT manufacturer to make sure that they are okay with your specific tent being used with this type of crossbar system. It would also be a good idea to reach out to Leer about your camper shell. From what I could find online it looks like they have different thoughts on their various shells so it would be beneficial to get their okay.

So the Rhino-Rack system is what I recommend but you'll want to also speak with the tent and shell manufacturers to make sure everything else is safe.
