Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller Still Shows "n.c." After Vehicle Is Shut Off
Question:
What is causing the brake controller to stay lit with the code nc when the truck is shut off and no trailer hooked up? It use to go off, could run battery down if not in use for a while

The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 should show "n.c" while powered on and with no trailer connected. In regards to staying illuminated while the vehicle is off, this confuses many because they expect the controller to shut down when they turn off the engine but that's not the case. The Tekonsha Prodigy will instead go into a sleep mode after 15 minutes of inactivity so you don't have to worry about battery drain.
