Connecting the Red Wire from the Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller on a 1990 Chevy 1500

i have a 1990 chevy k1500 with antilock brakes, but no tow-pak. which wire do i connect the red wire from controller

The red wire from the Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller, # 39510, will need to be spliced to the cold side of the stoplight switch which can be found behind your brake pedal. You will want to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test for the wire that only has signal when the brake pedal is pressed. Typically, this is a light blue wire on Chevrolet vehicles, but I would still recommend testing to ensure you have the correct wire.
