Just trying to find out what the difference between the 30852 and the 30074 parts are and which should I install on my 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Crew Cab shortbed. There is a big price difference. Why and what am I getting for the extra money?

The difference between the 5th wheel installation kits # RP30852 and # RP30074 is what they fit. Kit # RP30852 is designed for 2010 to current Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 series. Kit # RP30074 was originally designed for the Signature Series hitches and it fits various Ram models going back to 2002.

There is also a capacity difference. Kit # RP30852 is rated for 25,000 pounds while # RP30074 is rated for 18,000 pounds. However, you should always go by what the truck is rated for as stated in the owners manual.

For your 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Crew Cab short bed, you can use # RP30074 with the hitch, # BWRVK3370. I have included a link to the instructions for the kit and a video showing a typical installation.
