There is no way for us to know what brakes are needed on any specific trailer, but we can tell you how to figure out what you need. For both you need to have a brake flange and to know your axle capacity, but starting with drum brakes you also need to know the measurement of your drum For example the Hydraulic Brake Kit # AKFBBRK-35-D is for a 3,500 lb axle and fits a 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide drum.
For disc brakes you need to know the size of the rotor you need and your wheel bolt pattern. For example the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10" Rotor # K2R35D has a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. I have added a link to a help article which explains how to measure bolt patterns if you aren't sure. I've also added links to help articles detailing everything you need in order to add both drum or disc brakes.
Then you will need the proper hydraulic coupler, which will be different for drum or disc brakes, as well as a brake line kit. I have added links to our selection of each for you as well.
