Recommended Solution to Control Sway and Sag on 2017 Toyota Tundra with 7 Lift

Question:

i have a 2017 tundra crewmax with a 7 lift. I just purchased a offroad caravan with an articulating hitch. I have a little too much say in the rear of my truck. Im looking at firestone airbags, im not a 100 sold on a weight distribution hitch because of the limitations it will put on my hitch. Help, what do you recomend?

The Firestone Ride-Rite Helper Springs # F2445 are a confirmed fit on your 2017 Toyota Tundra Crewmax, but you're also going to need to lift spacer like the # F2375 to help cover the distance created by your lift. The # F2375 is designed for 6" lifts, so you'll need to make sure the distance between where the upper and lower brackets are placed is between 11.5" and 12.5"; if it's greater than that you will need to instead go with a weight distribution hitch.

Typically a weight distribution hitch will actually give you a bit more capacity on your hitch, but it also depend on the hitch that you have and what it is rated for. If you can tell me more about the camper you're towing, including the tongue weight and GVWR, I'm happy to help you pick out a weight distribution system that will help solve some of the issues you're currently experiencing.

I've also linked the installation instructions and a video of the Firestone air bags for you to see how they install and where you'll want to measure to see if the lift spacers will work for you.
