Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler Recommendations for a 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Question:
What is the best setup for my truck a combination cooler or 2 different coolers. I will be going off road with this vehicle and also towing with it. I like the Idea of the combination but dont like th tube and fin design. Thanks

If you are not a fan of the tube-fin design then I would go with separate coolers using a plate-fin design. For a transmission cooler, the most popular one for a 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser is Derale cooler # D13503. I have included a link to all of the recommended plate-fin coolers for your vehicle.
For an engine oil cooler, a stacked plate design, like # D15651, will take up the least space. This cooler has 3/4-16 filter threads and 2-3/4 inch o-ring which is what should be on your FJ.
I have included some links to FAQ articles for you to view and a link to a video showing a typical installation of a transmission cooler.
