Availability of 5-Bike Rack Compatible for a Travel Trailer Hitch Receiver
Question:
Hello - wondering if ANYONE manufactures a 5 bike travel trailer rated 2” hitch receiver rack i.e. non-folding. We have a family of 5 and would love to not have to find a place to stow a 5th bike if possible, and would love the ability to transfer to the truck. Any help is appreciated!

I do have a way for you to transport all 5 bikes on your travel trailer, but the largest bike rack size that has been tested and approved for travel trailer hitch use is 4 bikes. If you want to go this route then I highly recommend using the Yakima LongHaul # Y02476 because it comes with bike and rack locks.
To get all 5 bikes on bike racks I recommend using the Swagman Original 3 Bike Rack # S64152-2 on your travel trailer hitch and then the Jack-It 2 Bike Rack # LC429756 up at the A-Frame of your trailer. The Jack-It installs in the same place as your trailer jack and it holds the bikes high enough that they will clear any propane tanks or batteries that you might have sitting on your trailer tongue.
Obviously this method wouldn't get all 5 bikes on a bike rack for your truck so in that case you might consider using the 61" # SR26457 Softride Shuttle Pad to keep your bikes organized in your truck bed.
Attached are review videos of all 3 bikes racks that you can check out. Please note that if any of your bikes lacks a horizontal top tube then you'll likely need an adapter bar for the hanging style racks so that your bike will sit level and have good ground clearance. I personally like the Thule Bar # TH982XT because it has the widest range at 16" to 31-1/2" adjustable length.
