Can I Replace Just a Brake Magnet or do I Need to Replace the Assembly
Question:
My electric drum brake magnet was broken off and lying inside the hub. Do I need an entire new brake assembly or just the magnet and actuating arm?

While it is possible to replace just the magnet like part # Replacement Magnet Kit for 12" Electric Trailer Brake Assemblies part # AKBRKR-M12 I highly recommend replacing the entire assembly. It proves very cost effective and can save you labor later down the road. It seems when one component goes the others are quickly behind it. Replacing it all with a kit like the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies part # AKEBRK-6 is a great way to save headaches.
I don't have any information on your brake size but if you will provide the diameter and width of the assemblies and how many bolts hold it on I can give you exact replacement information.
I have also linked all of the replacement magnets for you to check out if you decide to go that route.
