Roof Rack Recommendation for 2020 Chevy Traverse With Raised Side Rails

Question:

I have a 2020 Chevy Traverse. I purchased from Etrailer Rhino-Rack Kayak Racks for my old vehicle 2008 Chrysler TandC Minivan. I want to make sure the Rhino Kayak Rack will work with these cross bars? Also would like to know what cross bars you recommend and what is the difference between the Rapid Mount and I think its the one that you use a tool with? Can you recommend Cross Bars for my 2020 Chevy Traverse since there are so many on your website. Thanks

I would be happy to recommend a roof rack for your 2020 Chevy Traverse, and it sounds like you are looking Thule racks, which is smart because their racks are the highest quality.

Your Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier # S510 will fit the Thule crossbars, and it looks like you have the factory-installed raised side rails on your '20 Traverse. The rack I recommend for you is made up of the following:

- Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420 (Black) OR # TH711400 (Silver)
- Evo Raised Rail Feet for Thule Crossbars - Factory Raised Rails # TH710401
- Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders (Optional) # TH450400

The WingBar and Evo Feet are the newest iteration of Thule roof rack and you do use a tool to very easily install the feet onto your Traverse. In fact, I have added a link to a video showing this rack being installed on a 2020 Chevy Traverse, as well as a photo showing the rack on this vehicle.

There are a number of reasons why the Thule rack is the best for your Traverse. As was mentioned above, it is easy to use and install, but also, the Wingbars are super quiet, the rack highly durable, and on top of that it has a fantastic look. What this rack does is allow you to get to your destination quietly and with style. I do recommend the lock cores to lock the rack to your Traverse and protect your investment.
