Indicator Light on Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller Does Not Come On when Connected to Trailer
Question:
I have a 1999 K2500 with a Tekonsha voyager brake control I have not towed my fifth wheel in some time. I hooked everything up and the brake controller is not energized the green light is not on any ideas on where to start? I have cleaned the conections and confirmed the black and white wires are connected and hot.

The white wire on a brake controller is ground and should not show power. If it is then this indicates a short to ground and most likely the controller will need to be replaced. The white wire needs to be directly connected to the negative battery terminal. The black wire should show 12 volts of power.
The indicator light should glow red, with or without a trailer connected, when you apply the manual override lever. If it does not light up it means that the controller is not sending power on the blue wire to the trailer and there is a problem inside the controller and it will need to be replaced.
No light could also mean that the power output level is adjusted too low. Adjust the power higher to determine if this is the case. I have included a link to the installation details for reference.
