How Does Brake Controller Install on 2017 Tiffin Allegro Red Freightliner
Question:
Do you sell the male connector for a brake controller? Our RV is pre-wired for a controller and Id like to use the wires but Id rather not cut the plug off. I belive the plug is a fairly standard 4 pin. The coach is a 17 Tiffin Allegro RED Freightliner. Thanks.

To install a brake controller like the # 90195 on your 2017 Tiffin Allegro Red you will want to use the brake controller port that will be to the left of the steering wheel under the dash. Unfortunately we don't have a connector that plugs right into this. The actual part number for that connector from Freightliner is PAC 12064754. This part should work for all Freightliner Chassis from 2004 to 2017.
The connector is a 6 wire connector with a cap on it. I attached a photo showing it with the cap in place and removed. There are 5 wires going into the back of the connector. The 12 gauge wire that is red with a white stripe is the brake controller output wire and would be the one to use for the blue wire of the controller.
The other wires going into that connector are as follows:
Brake Light Signal activated by brake pedal not the exhaust brake = Red with White tracer, 18ga (goes to red on controller)
Illumination light if controller has backlighting = Brown (not needed)
+12v supply to controller = Solid Red this is a 12ga wire (goes to black on controller)
Ground = Black (goes to white on controller)
