Differences Between the Class III Hitches For the 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan

There are two Class III hitches available for the 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan. The Draw-Tite Class III 2-Inch Hitch, part # 75579, and the Curt Class III 2-Inch Hitch, part # 13364.
Both of the hitches use a square tube design and will install in the same location on the vehicle. So they will all look the same on the rear of your Grand Caravan.
The difference between the Curt hitch, # 13364, and the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75579, is the mounting bracket on the passenger side. The Curt hitch has a right side bracket that fits around an exhaust bracket and attaches to a third hole on the frame. The other hitch does not have this third attachment point to make installation a little easier.
I am including links to the installation instructions and installation videos on the two hitches for you.
I would not say that either of these hitches is better than the other one. Both of them have the same capacities and they can both be used with weight distribution.
If you plan on doing some towing, I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit, part # EBMK4, which comes with a ball mount, interchangeable ball system, a hitch pin and clip, and a carrying bag. For trailer wiring, use the Curt Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, # C56331. I have included a link to the installation details for the wiring as well.
