Recommended Hitch and Bike Rack For 2019 Mini Countryman To Carry 50 Lb Electric Bikes

I have two electric bikes that weight 50 lbs each. I want to buy a bike rack for mini cooper countryman 2019. What product would you recommend? Also, which hitch would be suitable for my car? Thank you very much,

I definitely recommend a platform rack for electric bikes so you do not have to lift the heavy bikes as far to get them on the rack. For a platform rack, I recommend the RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10003 which is designed to carry 2 heavy/electric bikes that can weigh up to 60 lbs each so it has more than enough capacity for your bikes. The platform is raised a few inches to help keep your bikes elevated from the ground since the hitch on the Mini Cooper sits pretty low. The great thing about the MonoRail is it only weighs 37 lbs so it is easier to take in or out of the hitch compared to other platform racks that weigh 45-50 lbs and it will not exceed the weight capacity of the Class I hitch available for your Mini Cooper. I recommend the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11522 for the 2019 Mini Countryman. It is a concealed cross tube design so the only part of the hitch that is visible once installed is the hitch receiver for a nice clean OEM look. I have attached a photo for your reference.
