How To Use and Wire Curt Echo Brake Controller on a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

If I do the ETBC7 7 Way RV Upgrade Kit and also the Curt Echo does this combination still allow the trailer battery to be charged? Also, i couldnt tell if this approach required me to run a wire all the way from the hitch area to the car battery. Or is that avoided because of the Curt Echo solution. PLease advise! thanks!

In order to use the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 on a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee you'll want to use the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation part # ETBC7L. The 12 volt power wire which is used to power the brake controller and charge the trailer battery will still need to be run to the battery. Therefore, you can indeed power the brake controller and charge the trailer battery at the same time.

The benefit of the Curt Echo is not that you don't have to run a power wire to the battery but rather that you don't have to run one inside the cab and then wire in all the wires for the brake controller as well.
