2020 Toyota Highlander Platinum Trailer Wiring
Question:
Hi I’m pretty sure I know what hitch to order but I’m having trouble finding how to wire the lights. Unfortunately there are no vehicles of the 2020 year on YouTube that shows where to find the wiring connector plugs. I dismantled the area below the tools and jack as the 2019 shows and nothing found in that location. Under the truck looking up near the spare tire I found a plug that looks like it might be for the lights. I assumed I need another for the module but I looked high and low and could only find the one. If there is any YouTube video out there I would love to see it. Some say 2020 but they are 2019. Any advice? I’ll attach a photo of what I found. Thanks

I have a good solution for you but the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package part # 56042 has not been confirmed to fit your 2020 Toyota Highlander. They may change this in the future but as of April 2020 there are no custom fit wiring harnesses available for the Highlander. I instead recommend using the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 119250KIT this kit is the only confirmed kit for your highlander that does not require you to cut and splice into your factory wiring. It uses sensors that will detect the signals as they pass and illuminate the trailer lighting for you.
While we haven't installed it on a Highlander yet I have included an installation video we did on a 2018 Audi Q5 to help guide you along.
