Is Demco eZ-Latch Coupler as Safe as Slide Lock Coupler

Question:

Im considering replacing my slide lock coupler on our circle J horse trailer with the bolt on DM16680-52. My concern is the safety of the replacement latch vs the slide lock. I cant find any reason not to replace the coupler. Please any thoughts

Expert Reply:

The eZ latch of the Demco 50-Degree A-Frame Trailer Coupler w/ Jack Hole and Anchors, eZ-Latch - 2-5/16" Ball - 21K # DM16680-52 is absolutely just as safe as a slide lock coupler.

It doesn't use a pin but still exceeds the SAE J684 safety standards, which are tests for strength and stability attachment so you can absolutely be confident in this coupler and how secure and safe you will be while towing.

I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well of the Demco 50-Degree A-Frame Trailer Coupler # DM16680-52.
