5-Way Flat Trailer Connector Solution for 2007 Chevy Equinox
Question:
I have a 2007 Chevy Equinox, and will be buying a trailer that has a 5 pin flat connector trailer has brakes that are deactivated when in reverse. I see this part has a 4 pin connector. What are my easiest options here to be able to adapt to the 5 pin connector. Do I need an adapter that splices into my existing wires or is there an easier way? Definitely need the brakes to disengage when in reverse. Thanks for any help.

For your 2007 Chevy Equinox you'll first need to install a 4-way trailer wiring harness part # C56012 and then convert it to a 5-way with the adapter # 20036 and you'd be set. Now to install the 5-way you'll just plug it into the 4-way and then run the extra wire of the kit to the reverse light circtuit of your Equinox. This is the only and easiest solution.
I attached an install video for this on a similar vehicle for you to check out as well.
