The correct hitch for your 2011 Subaru Tribeca is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13069. This is a custom fit hitch designed specifically for your vehicle. It offers the very versatile 2" reciever tube opening which is compatable with all types of hitch mounted accessories for you to use.
Should you have the need to haul a trailer you will need wiring and a ball mount. For this I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C55370 which is also a custom fit part. It will plug in to an already existing plug in your Tribeca and give you a 4-way trailer connector ready to plug a trailer or cargo carrier equipped with lights into. Check out the installation video I linked for you.
A great ball mount kit is the etrailer ball mount kit part # 989900 this will give you great flexibility in rise and drop configurations to help adapt to any trailer coupler heights.
