Is it Okay to Convert a Female Plug on an RV to a Male Plug

Question:

I have an older horse trailer. I was going to convert the outside inlet plug. It is now a female plug and I want to convert it to a male plug. Is there anything special that needs to be done to convert?

There really isn't any problem or concerns with swapping a female plug to a male plug of any amperage rating. You will of course ensure you follow the instructions for the plug that you decide on to ensure you've connected the correct wire to the corresponding plug attachment point to avoid any issues.

For instance the Mighty Cord Replacement Hardwire RV Plug part # A10-P30VP would be a fine replacement for the Mighty Cord Replacement Hardwire RV Plug part # A10-R30VP.

I have linked the page of our connectors for you to check out. If you have any issues choosing one that will match your needs please send me a photo and I will be happy to make a recommendation for you.
