Bow Roller Recommendation to Replace a Bow Stop on a 1986 Eagle Trailer
Question:
Want to replace bow stops w/bow rollers on a 1986 Eagle trailer that pulls a 1986 Sea Ray. The opening measures 4 so a 4 roller would fit so tight I dont think it will roll would a 3 be to small? Should there not be any gap allowing the roller to move sideways/back and forth?

The Yates 4 Inch Bow Roller, # YR4174-4, is designed to be used with a 4 inch wide mounting bracket. The roller itself actually measures 3-7/8 inches long so it can fit in a 4 inch space and roll. This roller should work great on your 1986 Eagle trailer.
A small gap between the roller and the bracket is ideal to allow the roller to rotate freely. A 3 inch roller would not stay centered with the boat hull when loading as well as the 4 inch roller would.
