Where to Start When Deciding Where to Locate New Axles on a Trailer
Question:
I’m building a 24ft trailer with a gate that probably weights about 350lbs or so . I’m needing to know the equalizer placement?

Expert Reply:
The correct axle location is the spot that allows the tongue weight to be between 10 and 15 percent of the total trailer weight when loaded. I attached a picture that shows a chart with the overall process outlined as well as a link to a help article that covers it all as well.
